Elon Musk merges AI company xAI with rocket company SpaceX to build AI in space

SpaceX, the rocket company founded by Elon Musk, has acquired xAI, the artificial intelligence company founded by Elon Musk.

Elon Musk, announcing the merger of AI, wrote “The big terrestrial data centers are essential for rapid advances in AI and require huge power and cooling. In the near future, “Global electricity demand for AI is simply not met with terrestrial solutions,” without imposing hardship on communities and the environment. Paraphrasing ‘It is an important part of my life to be paraphrased.

Clearly the only way to scale was space-based AI,” Musk continued. “To harness even a millionth of our Sun’s energy would require more than 500,000 times the energy we use today, as is our civilization.”

The company is expected to be publicly traded at a $1-IPO valuation of the combined firm, which said. Bloomberg reported that 25 trillion, noting xAI recently raised money at a $230 billion valuation and SpaceX at about $800 billion worth of the investment.
