On Saturday, Vitalik Buterin said he believes the Hegota upgrade will be shipped with Ethereum account abstraction (or smart accounts) “within a year” on his shipment.
“We have been talking about account abstraction ever since early 2016,” said the Ethereum co-founder over the weekend.
But now we have EIP-8141, an omnibus that wraps up and solve every problem which AA [account abstraction] was intended to address (plus more),’ he added, adding ‘We are due to deploy this year.
This all looks possible in one year (Hegota fork) after more than a decade of research and refinement of these techniques. Paraphrast.
This core concept, however, is “about the same thing as you can obtain and remain very general purpose” using “frame transactions”,’ said Buterin.
Rather than transaction being one operation, it is an order of “frames” that refers each other’s data and every frame can signal authorization for a sender or gas payer.

The multi-signatures, quantum-resistant wallets and changeable keys work with a validation frame (which checks the signature and approve) followed by an execution frame for smart accounts.
Vitalik said Ethereum’s ethos is “a large deal for the payment of gas in non-$ETH tokens” and that it can be done by a “paymaster contract” or an exchange which provides Ether ($ETH) with no intermediaries required.

Quantum-resistant Ethereum in the pipeline
He said all Ethereum accounts, including those that are already in use, could be merged into the same framework and can do batch operations and transaction sponsorship.
On Thursday, the Ethereum co-founder posted his quantum resistance roadmap for Ethereum that the four areas of concern were validator signatures, data storage, user account signature and zero-knowledge proofs.
He also alleged that he expects to see “progressive decreases” of slot time and finality time in the longer-term scaling roadmap.
